STUDIO, AUDIO VISUAL, WORKSHOPS AND LABORATORIES

The institute has state-of-the-art- workshops to simulate the industry. It houses a fabric and garment testing laboratory, pattern making and draping workshop, cutting and garment construction facilities and design studio for fashion illustrations.The classrooms too are fully air –conditioned.

Library

The library is an amalgam of leading Indian and foreign authors. The institute has put together an excellent collection of book related to the fields of art, fashion, textile, fabrics, manufacturing, marketing, planning, research and management. We have subscribed reputed national and international publications and journals related to the respective fields. The fashion forecast service is another area, which has become our stronghold. Slides and other means of presentation are housed here to enabled students to make their approach more professional.

RESOURCE CENTER

We believe that seeing is an important part of learning. The Resource Center has been custom made to cater to each course comprehensively.

The Resource Center continuously upgrades its library of swatches, fabric, trims, accessories and garments in keeping with changing markets.

The samples as well as --the entire catalogued article provide rich teaching and reference material to make the learning process more complete. This also helps the faculty and students in the projects undertaken.

CANTEEN

The canteen provides hygienically prepared food at nominal rates to the students and faculty. A committee is responsible for monitoring the quality and the menu is reviewed and worked out in coordination with the caterer.

COMPUTER LAB

Computer lab is equipped with the latest software packages related to various fields of the garment industry. We have a specialized CAD system for textile designing, pattern and marker making. WGSN Website is the latest addition to the SIFT computer Lab. This website provides a platform to forecast 2 years ahead trends, patterns, designs style etc. It is an advantage to the students as this website will provide them a complete support system during their learning journey in the Apparel & fashion world.
